Robert Jones talks to a team member at Beresford House

Looking ahead

In 2026, eighty years after Jersey Pottery was founded, JP Restaurants entered a new era by joining Channel Island Hospitality Limited. Robert Jones, grandson of Clive and Jessie Jones, remains with the business as a co-owner and Managing Director, continuing the family connection that has been part of the story since 1954.

A new destination in St Helier

The former Banjo site at 8 Beresford Street reopened as Beresford House, bringing together dining, drinks, private events and overnight stays under one roof. Housed in a beautifully restored Victorian building in the heart of St Helier, Beresford House represents a new expression of the business’s longstanding passion for hospitality. The building first became part of the story in 2012, when Banjo opened its doors. Its latest transformation reflects how the business continues to evolve, finding new ways to bring people together.

The story continues

From a small pottery factory in Gorey to a collection of restaurants, cafés, bars and places to stay, JP Restaurants has changed enormously over eight decades. Yet the foundations remain familiar: a connection to Jersey, a family heritage and a belief in creating places where people can share good food, good company and memorable experiences.
